Literature Text
The gentle smile you once knew
The warm hands you once clung to
Darkness surrounded you and took them away
Forever more changing your fate
Innocence is doomed to fade
But for you, it was stolen away
Time was never on your side
The days with value were ephemeral
Then the years of solitude endless
Left behind in hollow, soulless castle walls
Where and when the passage of time loses all meaning
Without a kind voice you guide you
You turned to the path of revenge
And embarked upon the darkest road
You move forward without ever moving on
The light in your eyes died that night
Though he escaped,
It is a part of you who is sill trapped
Behind prison bars
Unable to let go of that moment
Your plans of revenge tie you to that night
The only memories time cannot dull
Remember the tragedy all too vividly
The happy recollections walking side by side
At times seem like they're from another life
But when you suddenly wake from fitful sleep
The nightmare haunting your mind
Piercing and poisoning dreams with agony
Those final, bloodstained moments
Remain feeling painfully recent
The eternal darkness
You grew up knowing not to fear
Spirited away everything you held dear
Your phantoms exist only to haunt you
For no one else remembers him as you do
Every step down the darkest road
Draws you nearer to your revenge
But can you grant your vengeful wish
Before the darkness claims you, too?
The warm hands you once clung to
Darkness surrounded you and took them away
Forever more changing your fate
Innocence is doomed to fade

The Mystery of a Poem
The mystery of a poem.
I've always wondered what makes a poem different. Is it nothing more then someone hitting the ENTER button more often than usual?
Logic says yes, but emotions say otherwise.
This is free verse. This is freedom.
It's all relative. It affects each being differently.
Each time I hit that key, each time I give myself a new line, I create freedom.
No. Freedom cannot be created, only given.
I give freedom to my thoughts, my emotions. This paper is one of many outlets.
My thoughts, my emotions are trapped within my mind.
So are the thoughts of many others.
And this is where they are free. This is where the world c

Frozen Memories
By accident,
I found her tombstone.
It lay buried beneath snow,
encased in ice,
under a canopy of white held aloft by the trees.
I had been walking,
focusing,
as I often do,
on the clouds of steam rising from my mouth,
and what they meant to me,
when my foot caught hold of the crumbling cross,
and sent me tumbling down...
down...
down...
I caught myself on hands in a sea of crystal white,
flesh stinging from the cold,
my foot aching in pain,
burning hot in the winter wood.
Why would there be a grave here?
What poor soul would be forever lost in this hollow?
Carefully,
in the cold,
throughout the fading light,
and into a

Entranced
I taste acid when
your lips move,
yet I am somehow
still traumatized
by the power you
hold over me;
such a subtle
quivering sense
of discontent.

The angst!
Yet another piece of literature for Iskah and Asoka...don't look at me like that, I'm not obsessed. XD But I'm lying.
Asoka and Iskah were brothers, if you've forgotten!
As a fun fact, 'The Darkest Road' was a title I came up with several months ago for a very different poem...but that poem is long gone. XD I'm actually really happy with how this one came out!
Everything from Land of the Sky is (c) to =Iniphineas.
